Covid-19 Update – Construction Resumes in Spain
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to sweep the globe we are adhering strictly to the Spanish Government’s guidelines about social isolation in a bid to contain the problem as a community.

We thank you all for your correspondence during this time of isolation and we continue to be available to all of you, our valued clients, during the “lockdown” period. We hope and pray that you and your families remain safe during this difficult time.

While the official lock down in Spain continues until at least the 26th April, the stringent measures introduced by the government urging all citizens, with the exception of essential workers, to #stayathome are working and the country is seeing a reduction in the incidence of the virus.

On this positive note, thanks to the effectiveness of the measures in place, the government has, from 13th April, allowed certain sectors back to work, while respecting social distancing rules. In a bid to keep the economy ticking over, amongst those workers allowed to resume activity from the 13th are those employed in industry and construction sites. This is good news for the Málaga and Costa del Sol real estate sector where new build properties are still in high demand, and we are confident that after the temporary halt in activity, the property market in the area will recover quickly. Other establishments permitted to open are opticians, vets, telephone, banking and internet businesses, newsagents, media outlets, mobile hairdressers and dry cleaners.

Whilst many more people will be returning to the workplace, the lockdown restrictions still apply and we are still being urged by the government to stay at home, work from home if possible, and only leave the house for essential reasons such as buying food and medicines, or caring for dependents. Sanctions and fines still apply if these measures are not adhered to, and while we are all longing for the restrictions to be lifted, it is important to remember that staying at home is helping to save lives.

During the lockdown all our team are continuing to work from home and can still be contacted either by telephone, email, WhatsApp or video call.

We are here for you, and look forward to hearing from you.

Together we will beat this virus - #stayathome – and see you soon.
