Sales Figures Rise Again For August 2018
44,637 residential properties were sold in Spain during the month of August, which represents a rise of 7.4% compared with the same month last year, reveals figures published by the government’s central statistics unit.

The most significant increases were recorded in Navarra (37.3%), Murcia and Asturias (both 23.4%). Property sales in Madrid only just beat the nationwide trend, rising by 7.6%. The two regions that reported a decline in property sales was Catalunya (-3.2%) – possibly due to current political uncertainties and the Balearics (-11.2%) – which experts believe is due to the lack of available housing rather than the lack of demand.

In the first eight months of the year, residential property sales rose by 11.1% to 352,000 units. In the last twelve months, over half a million (501,396) properties have been sold in Spain, representing a rise of 12.5% over the past year and a 71% rise since February 2014, reports newspaper Murcia Today.
