Puerto Banús Luxury Boutiques Surge Nearly 9% in Summer Sales, Driven by Elite Global Shoppers
17th October 2024
Luxury boutiques in Puerto Banús saw a nearly 9% increase in sales this summer season. Known for its world-class reputation, the Marbella marina boasts the highest concentration of luxury retail outlets in Spain, second only to Madrid. According to the port's management, the turnover of high-end stores at this prestigious location grew by 8.9% compared to last summer.
Juan Núñez, CEO of the marina, attributed this success to the "exclusive international tourism" that dominated the summer, accounting for 75% of purchases. He added that if the trend continues, 2024 is expected to close with sales reaching 307 million euros in the luxury boutiques around the marina. This would have a substantial impact on job creation and income generation for Marbella.
Management noted that the boost in sales this year was largely driven by customers from the United States and the Arab markets.
