Marbella Football Club and the Marbella Council have revealed plans for a brand-new football stadium. Mayor Ángeles Muñoz applauded the Marbella CF Foundation for their comprehensive proposal, which covers both the demolition of the old stadium and the full funding for the new one.
Innovative Design Features
This cutting-edge design will require an investment of 115 to 130 million euros. The stadium will accommodate 10,000 spectators, provide 1,000 parking spaces, and include a high-performance centre. Additionally, there will be a sports hotel with over 90 rooms, a commercial area, and the project will create between 1,600 and 2,300 new jobs.
To ensure the new stadium meets international standards, the Foundation consulted with FIFA, UEFA, and RFEF. This will enable the stadium to serve as a sub-venue for the 2030 World Cup, which will be hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. The stadium will also be used for concerts and other events.
Opening Scheduled for 2026
Mayor Muñoz announced that the demolition of the old Antonio Lorenzo Cuevas stadium and the construction of the new stadium are expected to start in 2024. The new facility is expected to be ready for Marbella FC by 2026.
