Countdown to Bare-Knuckle Showdown in Marbella: Xzibit to Headline Fight Night Entertainment
24th September 2024
American rapper Xzibit will take the stage on October 12th in Marbella, during a highly anticipated bare-knuckle boxing event promoted by none other than Conor McGregor. The headline bout will feature Franco Tenaglia facing off against Juan Soto for the bare-knuckle fighting world title.
Fans of West Coast rap are in for a treat, as Xzibit—known for hits like "Paparazzi"—will perform live at Spain’s first major bare-knuckle fighting event, organized by BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship).
Promoters have revealed that the event will include several high-stakes matchups, including three world title fights. One of the main attractions is the clash between Argentina’s Franco Tenaglia, now residing in Alicante, and New York's Juan Soto. Bare-knuckle boxing offers an intense and raw version of combat, with fighters using only their bare fists, increasing the potential for knockouts. Unlike traditional boxing, no gloves or headgear are used, adding to the brutal, high-risk nature of the sport.
Conor McGregor, the legendary MMA fighter from Ireland, is central to this event, having recently become a co-owner of BKFC. His involvement has taken the promotion to new heights. McGregor made a splash during the event’s launch at the Hard Rock Hotel in Marbella on July 18, where fans and spectators gathered in hopes of seeing the sports icon.
In addition to Xzibit’s performance, the night will feature a roster of musical acts. Kodak, Dizzee Rascal, BeltersOnly, Ferreck Dawn, Offica, and Eskimo Supreme will perform between bouts, showcasing talent from McGregor’s newly founded music label, Greenback Records. This endeavor marks McGregor’s expanding footprint into the entertainment business.
As fight night nears, new fighters have been added to the card, including several from Spain. Among the notable additions was Barcelona’s Abner Lloveras, a veteran of both UFC and Bellator. Originally set to face Turkish fighter Yunus Batan in his BKFC debut, Lloveras has now been replaced by French fighter Maxime Bellamy, known as "Orsu Corsu."
Event details have also been confirmed. While the fights will take place on October 12 at the Marbella Arena, BKFC will be in town starting October 10. A press conference is scheduled for that day at the Hard Rock Hotel, with the official weigh-in to follow on October 11. McGregor is expected to make several appearances throughout the lead-up.
Tickets for the event are now available for purchase through the BKFC website.
